Invest Inc was founded in July 2004 by a small group of individuals in direct response to the challenges faced by the many women and children living in sub-Saharan Africa who have been widowed and orphaned due to HIV/AIDS. After seeing firsthand the needs of these women and children in Malawi this group of individuals set forth to make a difference in the lives of these women and children in rural Malawi. Knowing the Biblical importance of meeting practical needs as well as spiritual needs Invest Inc designed a ministry that focuses on meeting both spiritual and physical needs. In November 2004, Invest Inc launched its first program in partnership with the Mpingu Assembly of God Church.  We equipped the widows within the congregation with the resources (land, seed, fertilizer, and training) they needed to grow enough maize to get them and their dependent children through to the next harvest. As the church recognized the success of this project, they as a body of believers are endeavoring to take more ownership in the project as this growing season rolls around.  Likewise, Invest Inc is providing the means necessary for these women and their dependent children to receive medical care as needed. Invest Inc is also providing an outreach ministry to the women specially designed and implemented by students from African Bible College. This weekly outreach to Mpingu allows the women an opportunity to fellowship, lift up prayer requests, and continue to learn the Word of God. The final piece of the ministry will be in place in Mpingu later this year as Invest Inc provides sponsorship for the widows’ children to allow them to go to school.
